Charlotte is living in a new normal. A way of life she neither wants, or is willing to accept. The world is virtual now and people are forced to live in isolation, out of necessity for their own well-being. Everything is government controlled and citizens are constantly monitored. Families have been torn apart for fear of spreading disease and each person is alot the same. The same living quarters, same amount of supplies and food, the same access to health care, and the same wage, barely affording one the ability to survive. Not a single person is above another in any way. Charlotte has been living by herself for almost twenty years now and virtual visits are set up to keep friends and family in touch with each other. Unless you are an essential worker, needed to go out into the work force, you are expected to stay in your dwelling as much as possible. No more dining out, no more traveling, no religious services. Life is done through the use of virtual reality. Charlotte works for a company that creates virtual vacations. A type of sightseeing that people can do from the privacy of their own homes. Faces are covered to help ward off any type of infection as well as to mask any form of compassion for each other. The entire world is left in a self-contained bubble of sorts. Or is it? Does everyone live this way? In isolation? Charlotte sets out to discovery if there still exists freedom. Freedom to live. Freedom to love. Most of all freedom to rekindle a love long lost to the world of virtual reality. Will she find it? Or will she be left further alone, isolated even more?
